The Bounty System is set up in a way to facilitate more inspiring roleplay and realism in regards to criminals. It is very easy to use and will be handled entirely on an in-character basis, following in-character laws and standards set by the Council - but some punishments may entail the use of serverside actions.
All you have to do is submit a RP Ticket, with an in-character report of the crime committed. If the criminal is captured or turns themselves in, it is your character's duty to provide evidence and persecution at the trial. And roleplay it out! Remember trials can have any type of outcome!
Out of Chararacter (OOC) rulebreaks still have to be submitted to the Staff via an OOC Ticket.
The Reeve (NPC)
Is in charge of taking note of all reports of crimes committed in the lands and judge on their cases. Depending on the severity of the crime and past offenses they will set a bounty for the perpetrator, which will be posted on our Forum - Bounty Board. Bounties will range between 20-75 Silver Coins depending on the severity of the crime - and will be paid by the Reeve. Names will ONLY be used if these have been obtained via first hand interactions/introductions. Players are always welcome to make their own Bounties outside of this system, but then it is also their duty to handle any reward.
Bounty Hunters & Guards
It is possible for characters to sign up as Bounty Hunters & Guards. In this case, they will get notified on potential bounties 1 day before it is shared with the public.
There will also be NPC Bounty Hunters and Guards, who may pursuit the criminals and bring them to justice.
The pursuied player MUST oblige to the roleplay - should he be captured, whether or not he chooses to fight first, he must follow the roleplay as it is. Refusing to co-operate OOCly, will be considered major break against the spirit of roleplay.
Trials & Law Severity
A captured criminal will have to stand trial and may be punished according to the severity of the laws. The date and time of a trial will be set in favour of the accused, if an accusator fails to be present in the Court on the set date and time, the verdict will automatically fall in favor of the accused.
The server will always start out with medium severity, but the Council can choose to set the severity later on.
Only a high severity may cause in punishments such as perma execution, however, this will of course be discussed with the player aswell.
So be aware that if you intend to play a type of criminal, you must also come to reason with that your actions can result in the permanent execution of your character, if they do not change their ways. However, characters permakilled in this way will be allowed to reclaim skills/stats, in order to avoid starting completely anew.
